| I have years of experience in repairing all kinds of bowed string instruments. |
| |
| Certain repairs are as unique as the instruments
themselves. This makes it difficult to offer standard prices
for larger repairs. Instead I examine the instrument, give
an estimate and provide consultation, naturally without any
financial obligation. |

|
A sloppy repair which only aims at treating symptoms, instead
of finding the cause, can often worsen or even create new
problems in the long run. Identifying the source of your instrument’s
ailment is only step one. The second challenge is to figure
out how to remedy the problem. Only then can I move on to
step three and begin the actual repair.
|
| |
| One shouldn’t underestimate the importance of custom setup and fine-tuning.
At this stage, I take the character of the instrument and the
wishes and style of the instrumentalist into consideration.
This is the backbone of producing the most optimal sound and
helps distinguish your instrument from any other. |

From the customer’s perspective, the amount of work involved
in a repair should be in proportion to the value of the instrument
(financial value or otherwise…). |
